A Night with "her"

End of a tiring day,
am lying in bed supine,
everything around frozen,
in mind her thoughts -
My heart flutters
and misses a beat -
Am moved even in this stillness.

Englufed in darkness,
in mind her smile -
A ray of sunshine,
the light of heaven -
A gleam even in this blackness.

Amidst utter silence,
in mind her voice -
Melifluous and sweet,
as that of a Robin -
A song even in this quietude.

My eye lids close,
chasing the elusive sleep,
my pursuit lost,
in mind her love -
her heart I win,
and her self surrenders -
A dream even in my awaken state.

I am left in my condition unchanged,
am still lying in bed,
motionless and calm,
fighting insomnia,
still day dreaming,
in mind the time -
The songbirds chirp,
to the crack of dawn -
The only change over the night.
