Am deeply hurt - My true story

I am deeply hurt today. It hurts more because I was very close to this person. And whatever transpired came as a hard-hitting shock. It happened so quick that I had no time to react. Shamelessly I let out a cry not able to withstand the pain. If it meant pain, why did I have to get close to this person?

I was within the circle only to save the singles. He hit a powerful shot and I dropped the catch. The sheer force with which the ball was hit, hurt my fingers, deeply.

Note: This entire post was typed with just my left hand fingers. Two of my fingers in right hand have turned purple due to the above incident during a cricket match today. Have already taken the day off tomorrow.

  8. Hey u take care dude...i've had one of those injuries in college & know it hurts real bad.

    just put some ointment(volini, i'd suggest), and in case you were playing with a season ball, better get an X-ray...u never know when its a hairline fracture.

  16. @JVC,
    True. Sometimes I wish I had resorted to lot of playing while I was in college. Never too late anyways :)

    @Ashish,
    Thanks. I have been prescribed an ICE GEL... took an x-ray too. The doc is giving me the benefit of doubt and put me under 5 day observation.

    Thanks. I guess whatever you say definitely holds good for someone who is emotionally hurt. I shall keep that in mind.

  20. @Viv,
    Lol ! Infact I had no reasons to feel guilty. It was the last man, and they required a run rate of 12 in about 4 hrs, which was close to impossibile. So, I was worried more about my hand than about the catch dropped.

    Thanks for dropping by. Am just as glad too that the initial diagnosis does not pose any threat.

  21. Ouch..finger injuries are the worst in cricket..I dropped a high catch(will we ever catch one:) ) while the ball fell right on my finger nail...last month in our league and it hurt me like crazy. Luckily no fractures. Hope you get better soon.
