I learnt to blog in Tamil today, hence this post.
Thanks to Narayanan for floating around a poetry contest and reviving my Kavidhai skills.
Thanks to Prabhu for giving me a pointer to "How to blog in Tamil"
I wrote this poem during my engineering days and it brings back fond memories of my time in SVCE. Needless to say, you may sing these lines to the tune of "Pachai Kiligal Tholodu" from Indian.
Breakum Lunchum
Arrears

ReplyDeleteI can understand. The song is pretty old by now. Infact even I had to somehow find my old poetry notebook to pen down these lines yet again :o)
Sophia,
Wow ! It would be a wonderful oppurtunity to meet up with people. I shall get in touch with Ravi and take an update from him.
Thanks for the invite.
And the english version is up on your request
Nithya,
ReplyDeleteAm from the 99 CSE batch, how about you ? Its been close to 6 years now and I have completely lost track of SVCE and SVCEans. Coincidentally, the night before the post was when I got back in touch with few of my friends from coll. So, in a way posting this poem was symbollic.
JVC
I don't know which one of them wrote Electron Devices... But an arrear in that subject always made me hate them ;o)
Those are my favourite lines too :o)
dude, t think it would have been better if you would post the meaning, rather than simply writing tamil in english...

Silverine,
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot and you are most welcome. I really appreciate your time.
Prabhu,
Thank you very much. I thought fonts need to be downloaded for viewing posts in Tamil. You made it sound so simple. Maybe I should put that as a note everytime I write one in Tamil :o)
hey gr8 so..u joining us tomorow
ReplyDeletePrakash,
ReplyDeleteThis is what I did :
1. Downloaded an English to Tamil convertor s/w from here.
Thanks to Shyam for the info.
2. The software is pretty easy to use. If you wanna write தமிழ், just type Tamizh. And the instructions are pretty simple too.
3. Once you have your Tamil stuff written, just right click, copy and paste it on your blog post / comment. It just works like a miracle.
Hope this helps.
Sophia,
ReplyDeleteYep. Spoke to Ravi sometime in the AN. Am told the venue is yet to be confirmed though it's gonna be somewhere close to Guindy. I would touchbase with him again tomo to the finer details. So, that pretty much summarises... I am joining you tomo :o)
Nithya,
ReplyDeleteOh 2001 batch... Maybe I might have indulged in ragging ya at some point in time or the other... What say ?
Now don't start off the SVCE thing as I could consume just about every possible space available. The Bus journey is what is still a memorable thing... Canteen (Thair saadham and saambaar saadham), Muthukarrupan, Interrupt (did they still call it that when u were in final year)... hmmm Those were the days !
Came here from ur comments on my blog reg the super-coincidence (You and I blogged same day abt Ovvoru Pookkalume song)...
ReplyDeleteLoved the spoof of Pachai Kiligal...great stuff man :-)
English translation is funnier LOL!!
nice attempt in tamil, somu..
ReplyDeletecontinue your efforts.
